Out of 6 wedding planners that were interviewed, 4 said that their default decor are artificial flowers; natural flowers are offered upon request. The other 2 wedding planners offer either natural or artificial flowers upfront. Wedding planners tend to prefer artificial flowers because they are cheaper and reusable; they recognise that weddings generate a large amount of floral waste so they want to reduce the amount of waste generated.
Typical wedding gifts would be cookies, charging cable and notebooks that are placed on the tables. These are usually provided by the hotel, who usually has a contact list of companies they outsource for various tasks such as decorations, photography, wedding gifts etc.
Couples are usually willing to pay $2-4 per guest, averaging to $2.50. The cost of the wedding gift is borne entirely by the wedding couple, not the wedding planner or hotel.
There was some skepticism about the quality of our wedding invitation prototypes. The wedding planner/hotel usually outsource wedding invitations, so they are willing to outsource to us if we are able to provide reliable work.
There was concern about the cost of both prototypes. This is because gifts and invitations are secondary to decor, food and venue expenses, so wedding planners and the couple would try to reduce these secondary expenses.
